Owl's Nest

The first day we walked this property, a great horned owl swept past us through the trees. It felt like a welcome, and the name Owl's Nest stuck immediately. The house feels grand, so the real work was making it gracious rather than imposing. The great room is modern and elegant, made for showcasing artwork, while the second floor stays intimate and private. With the gently sloping woods and an old stone wall in mind, we chose tall windows and glass doors across the back to pull that view inside.

Our ambition was to create something unique for this area, and it must have resonated, because the house sold in 24 hours during a tough turn in the market. Our buyer brought his father, a retired professor of architecture, to see it, and the two spent the day walking the property and admiring the details. As he told me later, an approving nod from his discerning father made him all the prouder to own the home.
