Lost Quarry Farm

As a builder of new homes who loves old ones, I take it as the highest compliment when someone assumes a project of mine is a restoration rather than new construction. That was the whole ambition at Lost Quarry Farm: to make it feel as though we had taken an old Hudson Valley farmhouse and brought it back to life.

Set on five acres along a quiet dirt road, it is a quintessential country farmhouse with classic nine-over-nine windows and two brick chimneys. Inside, modernist sensibilities set the foundation, while antique architectural salvage, natural stone, and handmade tile bring the warmth. After all, there is no more authentic way to create patina than to choose genuinely old things. The rhythm of the house is easy and quiet, with bolder, livelier moments made for bringing people together.
